No payment is required for the Free plan: 3 study guides in total, every game (20+ games, all free), mastery tracking, a readiness score on every guide, the Mini Practice Quiz, and 5 Study Tutor messages a day. A parent can choose Unlimited ($6.99/month or $59.99/year), which adds unlimited uploads, full Practice Tests, the full readiness breakdown, personalized study plans, unlimited Study Tutor messages, and themes. For more than one child, AvaStudy Family ($13.99/month or $119.99/year) covers up to 4 kids under one subscription instead of paying for Unlimited separately for each. Stripe handles checkout, and children cannot add a payment method or change billing on their own.

No. Coins are earned by studying — correct answers, completing games, daily streaks, and Season Path rewards. They're spent on cosmetic items for the pet (background colors, hats, glasses, frames) and on Magical Packs, which reveal a collectible pet chosen at random from a fixed set of nine. The odds are shown before a pack is opened, and packs cost only coins earned by studying. There is no way to buy coins with real money, and no premium currency.

AvaStudy collects the minimum needed to run the app: for a student 13 or older, an email address for sign-in, a first name, a grade and a birth month and year (kept private on our servers); for a child 12 or under, a first name, a grade and a birth month and year, with no email address of their own. Plus the content you or your child upload or type to create study guides. We do not collect location or any sensitive personal data, and a child's account sends no automatic page or tap tracking. Nothing is sold to third parties. The Privacy Policy has the full list.

AvaStudy is a personal study tutor, and the AI is there to support your child's thinking, not to do it for them: it builds the study material — flashcards, questions, and games — from the notes you or your child upload. When a guide is made, its cards and questions are checked against those notes, and anything that can't be matched is flagged for review; some practice questions made later from the guide's cards aren't checked again. In a few games your child types an answer or a short explanation in their own words and the AI checks it against their guide. The Study Tutor is a real conversation, but a scoped one — it stays on that one guide's content, favors hints over answers, and won't go off-topic; every conversation is logged and a linked parent can read it. Teach Me works the same way: it teaches one concept step by step, checks your child understood, and teaches it again if not, and a linked parent can read each lesson. Uploaded content and chat messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API, are not used to train models, and are not retained by Anthropic beyond completing the request. The AI can make mistakes, so check important facts: each guide says so, shows how it was checked against the notes, and has a Guide Coverage view that lists anything it skipped. AvaStudy is built for K–12 students — the grade picker runs from kindergarten through high school, with College and a not-in-school option for older learners — and the material comes from whatever your child is actually studying. Students 12 and under can't make their own account: a parent or guardian creates it from their own AvaStudy account (Add Your Child), confirming they are the child's parent or guardian, and the child signs in on their device with a code or QR code you give them. Students 13 and older can sign up on their own, and parents and teachers must be 18 or older. For an account you create for your child we collect a first name, a grade, a birth month and year (kept private on our servers, never shown to anyone in the app), and the study material you or your child upload or type. A child's account has no email address. You can review or delete all of it at any time, from your child's page on your Home screen or by contacting us.

Yes. Your child can log the grade they got on a real test for a guide, and the weekly progress email connects it — "practiced this guide four times, then scored 91%." Other students never see it. You and your child's teacher (for a guide in their class) see it labeled as self-reported. Whoever made a guide adds its grade: your child on a guide they made, their teacher on a class guide, and you on a guide you made (tap Add: Grade at the top of its progress card). Your child sees a grade you add labeled as entered by a parent. Each guide has one grade, and whoever entered it is the one who changes it; a teacher's entry replaces any other. If your child's teacher records a test grade for them, you see that too, labeled as entered by the teacher. As a linked parent you see the grade on each guide, on your child's class pages and progress report, and the most recent one on your dashboard and in the weekly email. The Classes tab lists each child's classes, and opening one shows only that child's work in it: the guides, what is due, updates like a new guide or a changed due date, and any test grade the teacher entered. Tap your child on your dashboard for their full progress report: all-time and this-week totals (games, questions, active days, study time, and accuracy compared with the week before), a What's Due list of homework and tests with how ready they are, an Updates list of what changed, every assignment and whether it was turned in on time, and for each guide which concepts are solid, getting there, or still tricky, by name. You can also set a test date on a guide you made and shared. If your child leaves a class or a shared guide, their progress on it stays in your report, marked as a guide they left. It's there so you can see practice turning into results, not just time spent. If you'd like to hear from us in the moment, turn on Heads-Ups in Settings: you get a push and an email if your child hasn't studied in a few days, or has a test coming up and isn't ready. They're off until you switch them on.

Yes. The weekly progress email has a Homework section: how many assignments are turned in versus outstanding, how many were finished late, and any that are overdue, by name. Your child is alerted in the app the moment a guide is assigned, and each assignment shows a banner that tracks their progress toward turning it in. Late work still counts — it is marked late rather than blocked, since the point is that they do the review.

Yes. Your child can generate a separate linking code for each parent, or, on the Family plan, the parent who pays can send an invite code from their Home screen. Each parent follows the same progress report from their own account, and your child is told whenever a parent is added. A second parent doesn't need a plan of their own, since Family covers the kids, and the parent who invited them can remove them from the family card on Home. A child's first linked parent is free; adding a second parent is part of the AvaStudy Family plan, and your child stays covered as long as either of you is on it. If neither of you is on Family, the later parent's view is paused (nothing is deleted) until one of you is. A child who made their own account can unlink either parent at any time; on an account a parent created, the parent manages who is connected.

It depends on how the account was made. If you created your child's account in AvaStudy, the parent who created it can delete it from their own account (open your child on your Home screen and tap Delete Account at the bottom of their page), which removes the account and their study progress. If your child made their own account and you linked to it, it is deleted from the child's own account under Settings → Parents & Safety. You can also contact us directly and we will handle it.
