Stripe handles checkout; children cannot add a payment method or change billing on their own.

No. Coins are earned by studying — correct answers, completing games, daily streaks, and Season Path rewards. A teacher can also turn on a bonus for finishing an assignment on time, which arrives as an in-app note your child accepts. Coins are spent on cosmetic items for the pet (background colors, hats, glasses, frames) and on Magical Packs, which reveal a collectible pet chosen at random from a fixed set of nine. The odds are shown before a pack is opened, and packs cost only coins earned by studying. There is no way to buy coins with real money. No microtransactions.

AI builds the study material — flashcards, questions, and games — from the notes your child uploads. When a guide is made, its cards and questions are checked against those notes, and anything that can't be matched is flagged for review; some practice questions made later from the guide's cards aren't checked again. In a few games your child types an answer or a short explanation in their own words and the AI checks it against their guide. The Study Tutor is a real back-and-forth AI tutor scoped to one guide at a time — it stays on that guide's content, favors hints over just giving the answer, and refuses to go off-topic or give personal advice. Every Study Tutor conversation is logged, and a linked parent can read it. If a term or question comes out wrong elsewhere in the app, your child can correct it in a couple of taps.

No — study guides are private by default. They're only visible to others if you choose to share them with a share code.

No. AvaStudy is completely ad-free. We don't show third-party ads to students or anyone else.

Yes — you can delete any study guide and its uploaded content at any time from the Study Guides page. Its text, questions, uploaded files, chats and game-history questions are deleted right away, and anywhere its name was shown to someone else it reads "Deleted guide". Scores are kept, and only a small record that it existed (dates and counts) stays. Pictures a copy of the guide still shows stay until the copy is deleted too.

Yes. Either your child generates a code for each parent, or, on the Family plan, the parent who pays taps Invite a Co-Parent on their Home dashboard and sends the code. Each parent enters theirs in the same code box on their own Home dashboard. A second parent doesn't need a plan of their own, since Family covers the kids, and the parent who invited them can remove them from the family card on Home. Your child is told when a parent is added, and a child who made their own account can remove them any time. On an account you created for your child, you manage who is connected: your child doesn't generate codes, you add another parent with Invite a Co-Parent, and your child can't remove anyone. A child's first linked parent is free; adding a second parent is part of the AvaStudy Family plan. It works when either parent is on Family, and the child stays covered as long as either of you is. If neither parent is on Family, the later parent's view is paused (nothing is deleted) and comes back as soon as one of you is. A child who made their own account can unlink either parent at any time from Settings → Family. One parent account can follow up to 4 children, and a child can have up to 4 linked parents.

Yes. Have your child open Settings → Family on their own account and generate a code, then enter that code from your own Home dashboard under Family to link. Once linked, you'll see how many of the last seven days they were active, their active guides, assignments, and the most recent test grade (one they logged, or one a teacher or you entered, labeled as such) from your own account — no need to use their device. Tap your child for their full report: all-time and this-week totals (games, questions, active days, study time, and accuracy compared with the week before), a What's Due list of homework and tests, an Updates list of what changed, and which concepts are solid or still tricky. The Classes tab lists each child's current classes, with the guides, what is due and what changed (a guide assigned, a due date, a test grade). Progress on a guide your child has left (a class or a share) stays in their report, marked as a guide they left, and is not counted as an active guide.

It depends on how the account was made. If you created your child's account in AvaStudy, the parent who created it can delete it from their own account: open your child on your Home screen and tap Delete Account at the bottom of their page. That removes the account and their study progress. Another connected parent can't delete it and can only remove their own connection. If your child made their own account and you linked to it, you can't delete it from yours: "Remove From Family Plan" unlinks your view but does not delete or reset their account. To download, reset, or delete a child's own account, sign into their account directly and use Account Actions below, or contact support and we'll take care of it.
