A One-Week SAT Vocabulary Plan That Uses Context
The SAT tests meaning in context, so a useful vocabulary plan must go beyond memorizing one synonym.

Days 1–2: build useful cards
Choose 30–40 academic words from your own missed questions. Put a plain definition, one synonym, and a sentence showing the tested meaning on each card.
Days 3–5: retrieve and discriminate
Recall meanings before revealing them, then compare near-synonyms such as skeptical, cynical, and ambivalent. Ask which word best fits a sentence and why the others do not.
Days 6–7: mix with passages
Review only the remaining misses, then answer passage questions where surrounding sentences constrain the meaning. Do not add a large new list the night before.
